What Ceracolors Pastes Can Do
Ceracolors Mediums offer artists unlimited control of Ceracolors waterborne wax colors. Use mediums to control transparency, viscosity and consistency. Ceracolors Mediums can be thought of as colorless wax paints, as they are composed of the same or similar waxes as are Ceracolors paints. They are the “glue” or binder that dry to form continuous, durable films.
This section lists some typical uses of Paste Mediums, but it is not intended to be exhaustive. New and different ways to successfully use these products are always being discovered.
Extend Paint
Adding Paste Medium to Ceracolors can extend paint. Extending Ceracolors with Paste Medium allows the paint to go further, while maintaining a much higher quality than “student grade” paints. Paste Medium can be added to Ceracolors in any amount desired.
Alter Consistency
Mixing Paste Medium into Ceracolors, will thicken the paint, and provide additional body. All Ceracolors mediums are compatible with the entire family of Ceracolors products.
Provides hard, opaque and matte finish. Useful for creating tough, durable finishes for smooth or textured surfaces. Can be carved with hand or any hot tools when dry.
Molding Paste
Ceracolors Molding Paste can be added to Ceracolors to paint thickly build impastos of wax. Molding Paste contains talc and while its appearance is gray, it can be tinted with any Ceracolors paint. Add Ceracolors Molding Paste to Ceracolors paint for thick, impasto-like applications of paint.
Pastes differ from gels in that they are opaque and may contain calcite (chalk), clay, talc, bentonite (diatomaceous earth), fibers, or other fillers resulting in a white to gray finish with a variety of textures and properties. Pastes can also be used to create textured foundations for painting.
Pastes can be colored with any Ceracolors paint and even with watercolors.
Directions
Add to Ceracolors Molding Paste directly to paint on the palette or in a container. Molding Paste can be added in any amount desired.

Light Molding Paste
Ceracolors Light Molding Paste can be added to Ceracolors to paint thickly and build impastos of wax. Light Molding Paste contains ceramic microspheres and while its appearance is gray, it can be tinted with any Ceracolors paint. Add Ceracolors Light Molding Paste to Ceracolors paint for thick, impasto-like applications of paint that are light and fluffy but dry hard.
Ceracolors Light Molding Paste is less dense than Molding Paste, hence can be used to create light textured impastos. Besides low density, the ceramic microspheres provide a slight texture.

Fiber Paste contains mineral fibers and while its appearance is gray, it can be tinted with any Ceracolors paint. Add Ceracolors Fiber Paste to Ceracolors paint for thick, impasto-like applications of paint.
Ceracolors Fiber Paste is less dense than Molding Paste, hence can be used to create light textured impastos. Besides low density, the mineral fibers provide a papier-mâché texture.
